How to get curly hair cut thinner?

A long time ago, I got my hair cut and ';thinned';. Unfourtunately, the person ruined my hair in the back, and made it really, really bad! I have curly hair, and this thinning turned out terrible. I've grown my hair out a bit, and now it's calmer. I've cut my hair myself a few times, so I like the length (even though its uneven...), but I can't thin it out. I'm worried to have my newer hairdresser (who also has curly hair) thin it, because even though I know she'll be better, it was still a bad experience last time. I don't want my hair all short and bushy again! It's currently a little past my shoulders, and it's thick, curly, and a little bushy. What can I do to get a hair cut that slims and sleeks my hair down? xHow to get curly hair cut thinner?

I wish I could help, but I had a similar-but-opposite hair cut issue. Everyone told me that I would have more volume with layers, but instead I got this horrible mullet 'do. I keep it in a bun to hide the shame, lol.

Thick, Coarse, Naturally Curly Hair. Cut ideas?

I have very thick, coarse, naturally curly hair I would like to grow longer. I had my hair in long layers but it grew out like a mullet (business in front, party in back). I always ask the stylists to cut the layer underneath shorter than they normally would, but they never cut it short enough. My hair is frizzier and finer in the front and the bottom layer in smoother and less curly.


I recently was in a bad mood and got sick of the mullet and chopped the longest layer inderneath off as it was dangling down. I am happy later it turned out nice, better than the stylists have done.


I have a hard time getting someone to cut my hair they way I knwo it needs to be cut. This is most likely the way they were not taught in beauty school.


Anywhoo, any ideas on a new cut that would be for growing my hair longer? I am thinking of a simple blunt cut. I dont dye my hair or want any high maintenence nonsense. Thanks.Thick, Coarse, Naturally Curly Hair. Cut ideas?
I think blunt cut is the way to go. I don't have coarse hair, but I would imagine your hair would grow out fast. At some point you may need to add layers to avoid looking like a brunette Christmas tree.





If that fails, bring back the mullet. I know you can work it.

Why don't you do both. Have most of your hair lighter, and then do some low lighting through out your head. It is very stylish and the 2 colors together will really look pretty. You do have to go to a stylist to get the colors you want, and it is really not that expensive, I've had it done.

I would probably want you to just keep it like that but get trims or even just shave the sides short and make the top a little long but not a lot, you will be cute either way.

Curly Hair Cut (Something interesting?)?

So, I'm planning to cut my hair soon and possibly dyeing it. My hair is currently long (about to my waist) and VERY curly, thick, and frizzy. It's a light brown color with a bit of red and blonde natural highlights. Also, my face is heart shaped.





I'm aiming to cut my hair to about shoulder length, but I'm not sure where to go from there. Layers are a possibility, so are bangs. I also want something kind of interesting. Anything that isn't too ordinary or boring.





Also, I plan to keep my hair curly and dislike straightening my hair because I just don't have time and it damages the hair.

You should know, if you have curly hair and want straight bangs, be prepared to straighten them every day. Oh, and it would help if you describe what kind of facial stucture you have, i.e. oval face, heart shaped, circle face, etc....Curly hair cut idea??? Help!?
definately dont get it cut any shorter than your chest. and i think you should only get side bangs if you straighten them all the time, otherwise dont do it :)

I really dont like bangs w/ curly hair...(haha bad experience!)not only that ur gonna have to straighten them all the time! So be prepared for damaged ends! Like i suggest more layers=]

If you have naturally curly hair, you should never put a razor to it. It will render the curl shapeless, and that would be worse for you. You can get a haircut and ask the stylist to point cut the ends. It basically does the same thing, without the damage to your curl.
