I got my hair cut in July. Now it is jusssst above my shoulders and I want to cut it just a TAD bit shorter. I've decided on a salon. I'm having so much trouble finding a hair cut though! It is about a 3a/b [Pretty tight curls, but not super]. I love the ';scene'; look but I don't think I can do that with curly hair. I do not have a straighner and the style would have to be pretty easy to handle. Believe me, I've looked and looked for styles but haven't come up with any! How should I get my curly hair cut?
I am 12 and in 6th grade. Right now i have bangs that are down to my ears and i have layers that go a little farther (2 inches or so) then my shoulders. I have light brown hair and natural blonde and sandy blonde highlights. I am getting it cut next wendsday and i want it to look cute but yet i want it able to be in a pony tail. I play hockey and volleyball and softball. And hopefully your more help then my bf. (haha)

Transitional curly hair cut?
I'm trying to grow my hair out, but i want a style that will work both now and later... meaning add more layers and it grows i suppose. My hair is naturally curly and does not handle straightening very well. It's also very heavy at the moment and fall forward... thus hanging over my face and making me look dead. I'm not sure I'd do very well with bangs, but i HATE my forehead.
Any ideas?

ok so i have light brown curly hair cut a few inches below my shoulder medium sized curls that get really frizzy. I have a long forhead, high cheek bones and a narrow chin. Im getting a haircut soon and really want to do something a little different. I like my length and don't want to color my hair! I have a few long layers but their really not noticeable. I usually spend about 10-15 minutes on my hair in the morning unless i straighten it which i don't like to do to often. im a very serious athlete so i don't want anything that would not go into my ponytail or bun or that prewrap wouldn't be able to hold back. plus, does anyone have any tips on how to wear naturally curly hair down and dry (not scrunching it) without it totally frizzing out?Curly hair cut question?

A long time ago, I got my hair cut and ';thinned';. Unfourtunately, the person ruined my hair in the back, and made it really, really bad! I have curly hair, and this thinning turned out terrible. So, I'm planning to cut my hair soon and possibly dyeing it. My hair is currently long (about to my waist) and VERY curly, thick, and frizzy. It's a light brown color with a bit of red and blonde natural highlights. Also, my face is heart shaped.
I'm aiming to cut my hair to about shoulder length, but I'm not sure where to go from there. Layers are a possibility, so are bangs. I also want something kind of interesting. Anything that isn't too ordinary or boring.
Also, I plan to keep my hair curly and dislike straightening my hair because I just don't have time and it damages the hair.

If you have naturally curly hair, you should never put a razor to it. It will render the curl shapeless, and that would be worse for you. You can get a haircut and ask the stylist to point cut the ends. It basically does the same thing, without the damage to your curl.grey hair

i think it wud look cute i just got straight accrooss bangs i like em but the guys dont like em so it sux. but i honestly think 100 percent that u shud keep ur hair long dont cut it short.

however maybe try and find a pic on the internet of a similar hair cut and photoshop ur face into it,

Well when i turned around 13 my hair went from pin straight to curly, which is strange because nobody in my who family has curly hair. SO nobody can answer me question, so im looking in the world wide web for my answer. Well i have long curly hair, and i really need a hair cut, its really curly and easily frizzed and damaged. I want to try bangs again but idk becuase i have a strange face shape its ovalish and roundish and im afraid to cut it and look like a freak, any suggestions?Curly hair cut?

You should get some long layers put in it to break up the curls in your hair so they are not so tangled together. For the damaged part dont blow dry curly hair. That tends to make it look more stressed always towel dry and throw in some good texturing moose or gel. Then top it off with some shine spray. The bangs part, I always think curly hair looks better without bangs. But when buying hair products always go to a salon and purchase them. They do way less damage to your hair. Invest in some hot oil treatments once a month, they are 5 bucks at walmart for 3 by vo5. hope this helps.
Not sure about the bangs because I can't see what your face looks like but if you don't like the curls and frizz then I recommend you buy a good quality hair straightner. When I say good quality I mean $120+. If buy it cheap it tends to ruin your hair and doesn't even work. Also, get one with a temperature contol on it so you can ajust it to any temperature.
It could be you got your hair from your extended family.
As you get older your hair changes also. Like mine used to be thin and as I got older it got thicker and more wavy. The only thing I'd suggest is dont get it cut too short because when you have short hair and you get it cut it tends to be shorter then what you meant it to be.

Now I have mine just below shoulder length. I also have short layers to take the bulk off the back and even shorter at the front to frame the face. Not TOO short round the front though, just up to your chin maybe?
My hair's in MUCH better condition now, the curls are totally reinvented!
You should also invest in some good frizz-controlling, curl-enhancing serum to give it an extra boost.

If you want it to be curlier, have some layers cut into it, or have it thinned w/ thinning shears. Try a new part, or have really long layers cut into it so that it is easier to blow dry w/ a round brush for a straighter and sleeker look.

I used to have the exact same thing, but i also just got it cut to a little below my shoulders with lots of layers and it looks great. It's a lot easier to manage and take care of. And when you cut your hair it makes it really healthy. Since all the weight is off the curls have life back in them.

My hair is very dark brown with auburn highlights,medium to coarse,curly/wavy,THICK, and I have pale skin,a square-ish face,and brown eyes if that helps. My hair was past my waist a few months ago. I have had it cut twice in the last six months and now it is about 4 inches from my waist. I wouldn't go any shorter than shoulder length dry. It will poof out when it is dry...that is just the nature of the beast!!! I spend about 15 minutes on my hair every morning. I wash it put frizz eliminating products and a frizz taming styling gel on it right after I lightly towel dry it. Then I put my make up on and dry by bangs and hair lightly. Any frizz I see gets a wet finger comb through to smooth it out. Then I let it dry naturally.

hi as a stylist I would recommend taking the sides in tighter
and shape the neck area whilst re perming the top to give you the curls you want, I did this for a client the other day and the style looked really good on her, but you have to have the sides and back taken down to give the effect of the style

I really think you should let your hair grow out. I have the same style of hair as you do, and I've been told many times (when I've had it short) that the cut doesn't work for me. But, good luck finding a hair style.

and shape the neck area whilst re perming the top to give you the curls you want, I did this for a client the other day and the style looked really good on her, but you have to have the sides and back taken down to give the effect of the style

I really think you should let your hair grow out. I have the same style of hair as you do, and I've been told many times (when I've had it short) that the cut doesn't work for me. But, good luck finding a hair style.

Why don't you let your hair grow longer since curly short hair is a little harder to do anything with. If you feel like making a change, maybe some highlights would look good.

The think about curly hair is our curls have to be weighed down to bounce, so in other words it will just stick out because it is not long enough for your curls to hang. Currently I have approx 4'' below shoulder length curly hair. I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for cuts. My hair is thick and in between wavy and curly. HERBAL ESSENCES is cheap junk! I have really curly hair like yours, and all it does is make my hair dry and frizzy (I used dangerously straight). The best stuff is Redken smooth down, or the cheaper stuff is most things by aussi. Its winter where I am so Im currently using head'n'shoulders shine care or w.e because my scalp gets dry. It helps slick the frizzes and lets you not have to wash your hair for a couple of days which helps when you have to straighten because I know it takes along time to flat iron your hair and you shouldnt have to do it often. The conditioner I use Aussi 3 minute deep conditioner, which helps the frizzes, and smoothes your hair.
For a hair cut, dont cut it above your shoulders, it might be tempting but its not enough weight and will make your hair poofy. Dont get layers because you need length to clump together and weigh down your hair. A subtle and pretty change is if you cut longer than 3 inch bangs and straighten them. A way to make your hair less tangled and get rid of extra hair is to go to salon when your getting your hair cut and ask them to thin your hair, as the blade runs along your hair it will shed of extra hair to make your hair less volumized in the long run.

I'm going to get my haircut soon and i was wondering if i should do something more to it.
I got long curly (frizzy sometimes too) brown hair and one of my friends' told me i should get it layered and another one told me i should cut it really short in a bob hairstyle so it got me thinking.

I'm getting my curly hair cut in a style with lots of layers, should I straighten it before I go?
It's a cut where I'll be straightening it everyday, and it has lots of layers. Someone told me it's difficult to cut layers in curly hair so they suggested I go in the salon with straight hair and have the stylist not wash it because it will make it easier for the stylist to cut the layers better. I also have extremely curly hair and flat tops like you. I just got it cut and layered today and love it! I highly suggest you get it done too... My hair's kindda short now but it looks sooo much better. But ask for long layers because short layers don't look that good with curls.

well hello fellow curly haired person :-) well, usually when i go for a swim it's in the early to mid afternoon on like a hot summer day. once i leave the pool, i usually just let my hair naturally dry without putting any products in...and just have some summer fun ha ha. i feel that with the chlorine, the hair products act differently in my hair as to when i shower. so, once the day comes to an end, i then wash my hair and continue my hair routine. doing this saves me a lot of money by the way. i would go through way too many bottles of shampoo/conditioner if i put them in my hair after every time i swam. i love the water, and sometimes letting your hair dry naturally is a nice healthy break. curly hair is just awesome :-)

Sorry, youre cursed like me. Best things to do are to buy a smoothing shampoo and conditioner. I use tex.
Everyone is normally shocked when they touch my hair becaue they are used to crunchy curls, and they tell me my curls are very soft.
I start with the smoothing shampoo, follow with the conditioner, when I get out of the shower I apply a leave in conditioner (lanza) and tex has a line of curl memory products. I use their spiral down cream, and their leave in spray conditioner.
I love their stuff. Its kind of expensive, but it last me months and my hair is down past the middle of my back.
found that leave in conditioner helps(I usually don't blow dry mine...as it dries the natural curls come out but they aren't all poofy)
get some hair GLUE, when your hair is still wet put a little in and comb it through, then just let it dry, you might put some hair spray in afterwards, but it's up to you.
There's A Lot Of Shampoos Out There That Will Work... If Nothing Works There's Always Cutting It...
